Reachey, Grisedale, Sedbergh by MK Conversions

The property was a derelict old farm building which was well and truly in the middle of nowhere. An access road had to be re-instated before work could even begin. The location of the house meant that flooding was a real problem and so massive drainage works in and around the house had to be undertaken and the problem resolved before anything else could be contemplated.

The house itself was in such a desperate state of repair that absolutely everything had to done. This included the removal and reinstatement of the entire ground floor, connection of all services to the property, rebuilding and reroofing etc. All this needed to be done before the transformation could actually start.

The refurbishment has been a true labour of love for the owner and we hope we have managed to achieve the attention to detail and the high standard of work that the project deserved.

Pat: "I had great builders, all local guys. In particular the stonemason, Earnie was wonderful - an artist with stone. I loved watching him work. Its a shame that those skills are not necessarily being passed on."
