General Builders MK Conversions, Projects

Fairview, Kirkby Lonsdale

This was a specialised project which involved the redevelopment of an existing house into a dwelling suitable for a disabled person. This involved the demolishing of a garage extension and re-building to form a separate carer's annexe with access to the main house. The main house itself is now designed to accommodate a wheelchair. A rear extension to form a disabled bedroom and bathroom suite has also been built.

Specialist equipment has been installed in the property, including a custom built hoist system between the bedroom and the disabled bathroom. The bathroom is complete with specialised bath, WC and seperate shower.

The original conservatory was taken down to make way for a larger accessible therapy room.

The kitchen has been designed to allow wheelchair access to the breakfast bar area.

The remainder of the house has also been totally refurbished to include new flooring, bathrooms, heating & electrics and kitchen. We have installed a new glass balustrade over the lounge area giving access to the upstairs rooms.
